BEGINNER WATERCOLOR WITH TERRI
Join us during your lunch break for a beginner watercolor class with Terri Clauss.
Terri’s classes are designed to smash the myth that watercolor is hard, and give you the confidence to use those paints you bought that are gathering dust.
You'll learn fundamental concepts while painting fun subjects in a supportive and encouraging environment. No prior experience necessary, just a sense of curiosity!
Overall Learning Objectives:
Select and use watercolor materials (paints, brushes, paper, masking materials)
Practice fundamental techniques: flat wash, graded wash, wet-on-wet, wet on damp, and wet-on-dry
Select colors for an artwork, mix colors, and create a personal color wheel
Apply fixes and embellishments
Registration includes four 90-minute sessions and all materials.
Session 1: Water - the pigment delivery system
Session 2: Color why & how & how not
Session 3: Composing, sketching & painting a landscape
Session 4: Turning accidents happy & finishing touches on a floral bouquet
Terri Clauss is a visual artist, maker, designer, and author. After a joyful career teaching English to international students, she now devotes her days to creating nature-inspired artwork and uplifting community art projects. She loves working in the small art-card size with watercolor and mixed media and creating larger works in acrylic.
To Terri, art is a kind of play that soothes and uplifts You will often find her at a local cafe painting and inviting people to join her.
